Incident Details:On Wednesday, December 29, 2011 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Officer Clifton Lewis, Star # 4103, assigned to the 015th District Tactical Team, was fatally wounded during a robbery while working a second job at a convenience store in the 1200 block of N. Austin. During the course of the robbery, Officer Lewis, age 41, acted in his official capacity as a Chicago Police Department officer and was shot by one of the offenders and later succumbed to his injuries. Officer Lewis joined the department on 27 April 03 and graduated in Nov 03. He left behind a young daughter, a fiancee, a loving family and many close friends.
